Our Lastest Rescue

Me and Bud

Not too much after this photo was taken, we lost our Border Collie Budzy. We always thought that he rescued us by showing up at the back door. He was around 3-5 years old then, under weight & some hair missing we took him to the vet to find out he had full blown heartworms, poor blood and was too weak to undergo treatment. Racing against the clock, despite the vets recommendations we managed to get him strong enough to proceed. 8 weeks later he was heartworm negative. Later he suffered from seizures, but thanks to Gainvilles Animal Medical Center & Dr Hopkins here in Jacksonville, Bud was now seizure free. Later he developed hip issues and thanks to Eddies Wheels in New Hampshire, Bud was on the road again ! His vets all agreeded that his attitude, strong heart, strong vital stats and healthy blood, he had a long to do list. Despite all the odds, Bud lived to be 20 years old. Bud was my shadow and a major part of my life, I miss him dearly.

We miss you so much Penny Lane

October 27th, 2011

Penny Lane is currently undergoing treatment for bone cancer. We seemed to have caught this early during one of her regular check ups from a "Senior Scan".

Dr's Locke & Ladue at Southeast Veterinary Oncology are very impressed on her recovery.

Remarkable! is the word they used.

There's been no side effects from the radiation or Cemo treatments at all. If you have a pet thats over 5-7 years old, we highly recommend the "Senior Scan" Ask your Vet about this on your next visit.

NEW UPDATE !  Penny Lane underwent her next to the last cancer treatment on Friday July 15th, 2011. After viewing the latest exrays the cancer has shrunk again !

This is amazing! The best you can ever hope for dealing with cancer in an animal, would be to hold it where it is so it doesn't get larger. This is acutally getting small, The doctors office including Dr. Ladue & Locke were caught doing the Happy Dance !

On October 27th, 2011 Our sweet Penny Lane passed away from complication after surgery to remove a tumor in her spline and the spline itself. After beating cancer she lead a normal extended life by beating the odds. As all of our dogs they are very special, but Penny Lane was a gift of love.
